UX RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

Graduate Research Assistant

May 2016 – Till date

Clemson University, Clemson, S.C., U.S.A.

Project: Managing Privacy in Household IoT environments

  • Assisted in developing script, video and survey questionnaire to be shown to participants of the user study.
  • Conducting statistical data analysis using R and R-Studio to develop path models which explain attitude-behavior relationships and mediating parameters of study.
  • Developed Privacy Settings interface using Adobe XD based on statistical data analysis in R.

Project: Data driven approach to design IoT Privacy Settings Interfaces

  • Conducted statistical data analysis on existing dataset from 200 participants using R and M-Plus to establish an attitude-behavior based privacy decision making model for generalized IoT environments.
  • Designed privacy setting interfaces using Axure RP, based on inferences drawn from data analysis.

Project: Examining generational differences in Adoption and Use of IoT Technologies

  • Worked on cleaning and organizing available qualitative data and prepared it for data analysis.
  • Conducted Topic Modeling to develop hypothesis and tested it through qualitative data analysis using (R-QDA) to understand factors influencing IoT adoption across different generations of users

Project: Managing Privacy in Autonomous Driving Vehicle

  • Interviewed potential users to gather privacy related needs and developed prototype using Adobe XD.
  • Conducted usability tests with designed prototype to understand areas for improvement, designed user study which included scenarios with timed tasks, System Usability Surveys and Think Aloud methods.

Project: Puzzle of Life

  • Conceptualized and implemented primary prototype to demonstrate various tangible interaction mediums to use the designed setup.  Used Laser Cutting to make various parts of prototype.
  • Developed Story-boards to understand user flows.
  • Used Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Spark and XD to create and demonstrate multiple functionalities of prototype.

Project: Design Mobile based Application for Vocational Training Module

  • Existing system was a standalone desktop software. The aim was to make an application which could be used on a Mobile phone with touchscreen and other sensors.
  • Conducted usability tests on existing system and conducted user interviews to gain insights into user needs.
  • Designed and tested cell-phone based app using Adobe XD and Adobe Photoshop modules.

Project: Design and Implement Website for Sam’s Gyro, Clemson

  • Gathered user needs by interviewing users, created user personas and conducted competitive benchmarking.
  • Designed the website using Axure RP and conducted usability tests to develop the final website.
